Blackhawk Country Club is a 4,800-acre country club community. Luxurious residential neighborhoods are surrounded by thousands of acres of permanent open lands.
Blackhawk is divided into seven individual neighborhoods, the largest being Country Club West and Country Club East.
This club offers two regulation eighteen hole courses. The greens on these courses are sloping and putt true. Many of the narrow fairways have doglegs and are bunkered. There are several lakes that come into play throughout the courses. As the courses' names indicate, there is beautiful scenery throughout their entire designs.
The club's Tennis Club has 20 fully landscaped tennis courts, a clubhouse and a pro shop. The Blackhawk Swimming Club has a competition-sized pool, a spa, dressing rooms and instructional programs for both youths and adults. The sport facilities also include a Sports and Recreation Center. This is a 25-acre complex with basketball courts, outdoor sand volleyball courts, a children's play park, Olympic-sized pool, sports fields, and an amphitheater.
There are two clubhouses. The Lakeside club house is 40,000 square foot and has stately dining rooms, and a sumptuous cuisine.
Blackhawk Country Club membership is limited and by invitation only. Proprietary members have equity in the assets and property of the Club and enjoy reciprocal privileges at many other private golf and country clubs.

When Edward deLaveaga first conceived of the Orinda Country Club in the 1920s, he intended it to be a
focal point for life in the newly developing community around it. At that time, few people lived on
the beautiful wooded land in the hills east of Oakland across the Bay from San Francisco. In fact,
the growth of Orinda has been closely linked to the growth of OCC.
And he set about establishing the Orinda Country Club- first its beautiful free-form swimming pool;
then a clubhouse, a five-hole golf course, and its first tennis court near the pool, now overlooking
the eighteenth fairway; and finally a full program of social activities and an eighteen-hole golf
course that would host the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) tournament in 1928. This was to

in 1992 by Robert Muir Graves. All of the greens were reconstructed with a drought-resistant design.
The course is routed through 145 acres and landscaped with mature native Oak, Eucalyptus and Redwood trees.
The course gives all players a perfect blend of challenges and dramatic views. In 1996 a newly built
clubhouse was constructed with a state-of-the-art banquet facility overlooking our luscious golf course.
